The 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to be the 22nd edition of the quadrennial international men's soccer tournament. It is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022. A total of 32 teams are expected to compete in the tournament.

Format of the Qualifiers 

The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will be held from June 2021 to November 2022. A total of 210 teams from six confederations are expected to compete in the qualifiers. 

The qualifying process will begin with a preliminary round, in which the lowest-ranked teams will compete for a spot in the first round. From there, the first round will consist of two groups of six teams and two groups of five teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the second round. 

In the second round, the eight group winners will be seeded and placed into four groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the third round. 

The third round will consist of two groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the World Cup.
