HITMAN 3 Review friv game. Untouchables are gone

The long-awaited release of the final act of World of Assassination - soft reboot of the famous series of stealth action friv games by the Danish studio Friv2Online Games Studio - has taken place. What is remarkable Hitman 3 - we tell you in the review.

Even if you settle in the woods. In a cabin on the snowy edge of the world, with no road to it and the only people who live in the neighborhood within a thousand miles are wild animals, night after night you'll be drenched in cold sweat, jerked out of sleep by a cracked log in the stove or a stray gust of wind that ripped open the front door.
Climb the tallest tower in the world with its armored glass and steel walls. Into a citadel guarded by a hundred armed professionals and a thousand-eyed security system, advanced drones and digital keys on the locks, you're not safe if you've been targeted by Agent 47.

He'll be the waiter who fills your mug with a poisoned drink. He'll be the shadow in the mirror of your private shower. His recognizable silhouette you will one day find in your favorite chair, returning home in the dark. And the last thing you'll see before the inevitable end will be the play of light on the smoothly polished cylinder of the silencer.
This is how Friv2Online Games Studio introduced Agent 47 to us in November 2000 and, unlike some of its almost identical counterparts that have survived to this day, has managed to keep the image almost pristine.

Since its launch, Hitman has symbolized the highest edge of mastery of the not the most prestigious, but, unfortunately, relevant at all times craft of contract killing, and remains for everyone involved a grim reminder that among people, no matter how unimaginable the heights of the world's elite they have climbed, there are no untouchables.
The third and final installment of the relaunch brings the World of Assassination trilogy to its logical end. All three games are easily perceived as three seasons of a mini-series, thanks to which the developers managed to combine them very organically into a single collection.

Agent 47 together with childhood friend Lucas Gray are preparing to finally strike at the heart of the mysterious organization "Providence". Following the instructions of the unchanging Diana Burnwood, the heroes open a ruthless hunt for members of the leadership of the shadow government.
The final act consists of six missions, separated by small story clips. Each mission has its own exceptional atmosphere. IOI still masterfully convey the mood of the place, even though the developers borrowed most of the graphical solutions from the previous part.

You'll attend the opening of a skyscraper rising above the clouds in Dubai; visit an old English manor house faithfully drawn from the works of Conan Doyle; find yourself in progressive Chongqing, preparing to move into the cyberpunk era; and visit an underground nightclub on the borders of Berlin.
Three of the six quests feature independent storylines, following which 47 will get closer to its goals one way or another. In Dartmoor, for example, the agent can dress up as a detective and investigate a mysterious murder, and in sunny Argentina work as a winemaker.

The friv game will not oblige you to follow the scenario, if you wish to develop your own plan for elimination. Locations are spacious and multilevel, the number of floors can reach ten, and on each of them the trained killer's eye will easily find a potentially dangerous place.
Here it would be worth to tell more about new gameplay features, but there are almost none in Hitman 3. Well-developed AI behavior, hand tools for every need, items with hints, classic masquerade, lethal and non-lethal weapons - all this is in the series since 2016.

True, the developers added a camera to the game, with the help of which 47 can break digital locks. Objects of interest appeared on the levels, which can be captured on photos for additional experience, and in at least one of the plots you will be asked to take a photo of the victim to provide evidence to the customer.
A camera is included in the basic kit and is always handy, but it's not much use. To break the door, the agent needs to find the appropriate code. In essence - this is no different from the mechanics of finding ordinary keys. But you can at any time make a beautiful screenshot without 47's profile in the background. To be fair, some of the views in the friv game do beg for a shot.

With a leisurely progression, the story closes in six hours, or even less. Replayability of the missions is provided by the above-described plots (that is, at least three tasks can be completed in three different scenarios), as well as the achievement system, fulfilling the conditions of which players will open new features for repeated passage.
It's not just about customization and filling the inventory with new devices. There will be a choice of starting area, from where 47th will start his deadly game, as well as the ability to hide some bonus, to then take it from there. Thus, for example, it will be possible to equip an agent with a weapon in the territory, at the entrance to which the inspection is obligatory.

In the main menu there is a store with an opportunity to add additional materials to the collection, expand it with bonus campaigns, like the four-mission "Patient Zero" from the first part of the trilogy.
Additional activities include the classic sniper friv game, the same escalations (tasks on the passed levels with new goals and conditions), as well as a system of contracts that players create for each other in free play. This time the developers did without cooperative and competitive modes.

Barring the occasional scripting nuisance in the story scenarios, Hitman 3 both works and looks better than ever. I was especially impressed with the level design, so different that it feels like you're breaking into some other game with each new mission.
And a little bit about the cons. It's rare when a game's story trailer looks worse than the game itself, but IOI somehow managed it. The story albeit formulaic, but overall not bad. Except that, for my taste, the ending is a bit underwhelming, and with it, the last mission. I would have liked to see it a little more extensive.

And of course, the lack of localization into Russian. No matter what you say, but Hitman is a loud franchise-long-lived, which Russian-speaking users are used to playing in their native language.
Even English subtitles occasionally fail and some nuances players will be doomed to perceive exclusively by ear. All this somewhat spoils the overall impression.
Is it worth buying Hitman 3? If you are a fan of the series and a little bit oriented in English - it is definitely worth it. Especially if you want to finally build a complete collection with all the friv games and bonus chapters of the trilogy combined into a complete environment.
Hitman 3 is that rare case when for the lack of innovations, while retaining the mechanics of five years ago, the project loses almost nothing. A wonderfully atmospheric, one-of-a-kind game that looks and plays extremely well.
